International White Cane Day: meet the FSA and the ABA at Balexert
To mark International White Cane Day on October 15, Balexert will host the Swiss Federation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (FSA) and the Association for the Welfare of the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABA).
The day offers an opportunity to discover the daily realities faced by the visually impaired through various interactive activities. Visitors can try out glasses that simulate different visual impairments and gain a better understanding of the challenges associated with navigation, orientation, and accessing information.
Teams from the FSA and ABA will also be on hand to engage with the public, answer questions, and showcase their initiatives promoting the inclusion of blind and visually impaired individuals.
This event is part of the rollout of StreetNav, an inclusive navigation system implemented by Balexert. Using tactile maps, audio cues, and adapted guidance, the project aims to enhance independence and accessibility within the center for everyone.
Join us on October 15 for a day dedicated to raising awareness, discovery, and dialogue regarding inclusion.
