A year 2024 marked by success
In 2024, the Balexert shopping center reached an attendance record with 8,722,376 visitors, the highest in 11 years. Saturday November 30, 2024 was marked by the third largest attendance in its history, with 50,851 visitors, the absolute record remaining that of Saturday December 21, 2019 with 52,547 visitors.
This success is based on the attachment of customers to the center, the attractiveness of the completely renovated spaces and the diversity of the offer proposed by the 140 commercial partners. Balexert thus consolidates its leading position in French-speaking Switzerland and demonstrates that physical commerce remains indeed attractive.

A bustling center with beautiful perspectives
Balexert continues its development by enriching its brand mix and offering a unique experience to its visitors. New brands such as Metro Boutique and Guess as well as Naruto at the foodcourt were established in 2024. At the same time, significant renovations at Ochsner Shoes, Interdiscount and Akyado contributed to the modernization and revitalization of the center. In addition, the H&M extension work, including an H&M Home space, will be finalized in spring 2025.
Building on these successes, Balexert is looking towards 2025 with confidence. Among the expected new developments, Foot Locker and Ochsner Sport – among others – will inaugurate their stores during the first half of the year.
Sustainable commitment and artistic initiative
In 2024, Balexert continued its sustainability efforts with the installation of more than 2,000 photovoltaic panels on its roofs. The installation on the P3 building is already operational,
while that of the main building will be completed before summer. Furthermore, Rue des Cornettes-de-Bise welcomed a new poetic work by Geneva artist Alexia Turlin, replacing the imposing Village Roadshow statue installed in 2001 during the opening of 13 cinemas.
A leading local economic and social player
In 2024, Balexert brands recorded a total turnover of around CHF 400 million. Depending on the time of year, the center can generate up to 1,300 jobs. Throughout the year, Balexert supported sailor Maud Jayet, who brilliantly won 4th place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The center also continues to support the Balexert 20km of Geneva and the Genève-Servette Hockey Club ( GSHC). Not to be outdone are the charitable and non-profit associations that Balexert supports throughout the year, in particular by collecting donations thanks to the activities offered in the center. More than CHF 20,000.- was thus able to be redistributed to various local charities.
