Mode de vie, dépistage, traitement : votre côlon mérite votre attention.

Lifestyle, screening, treatment: your colon deserves your attention

Colorectal cancer is a common disease whose treatment is effective if diagnosed early.
Specialists from the HUG Colorectal Cancer Center, the Geneva Cancer Screening Foundation and the Geneva Cancer League will meet you at Balexert for an information day focused on:

  • Colon cancer screening: cantonal plan and genetic factors

People living in Geneva or border areas affiliated with LAMal benefit from the cantonal colorectal cancer screening plan implemented by the Geneva Cancer Screening Foundation. From the age of 50, screening is systematic. LAMal covers 90% of the costs, regardless of the deductible. This screening plan allows you to choose between a colonoscopy exam or a stool exam (FIT test).
However, people with a family history of colorectal cancer may benefit from earlier detection.
Find out how screening is organized and what the advantages of each method are.

  • Prevention: the importance of lifestyle

Lifestyle is particularly important in reducing the risk of colorectal cancer. Regular physical activity, a balanced diet, moderate alcohol consumption and naturally stopping smoking reduce the risk of developing colorectal cancer.
Have your situation assessed and benefit from advice tailored to your situation.
