To mark World Palliative Care Day, an information and awareness-raising event regarding the Advance Care Planning project (ProSA) and advance directives is being organized by Palliative Genève and its partners: the Cantonal Health Office, the Palliative Care Service of the HUG (Geneva University Hospitals), and the Geneva Home Care Institution (IMAD).
The Advance Care Planning project (ProSA) allows you to reflect on your care preferences and share them with your loved ones and healthcare professionals. This enables you to anticipate decisions that might need to be made should you become unable to express your wishes.
Advance directives allow you to put your wishes in writing. In them, you can specify the care you wish to receive or avoid and designate a trusted person—known as a therapeutic representative—to make medical decisions on your behalf if you are no longer able to do so yourself.
